Yes—aim for the caravan to sit level or very slightly nose‑down when towing; nose‑up is a one‑way ticket to sway city.

Set the towball height so the coupling and chassis sit level once loaded, and target a tow‑ball mass around 8–12% of the caravan’s loaded weight.

If the rear of the tow vehicle sags, use a weight‑distribution hitch and move heavy gear forward of the axle, but keep within the vehicle’s TBM, tow rating, GVM and GCM.

Do a quick driveway test: measure hitch heights before and after, check headlights aren’t pointing at the moon, and make sure it tracks straight under gentle braking.

If it still feels floaty or twitchy, you’re not level, not balanced, or both—fix it before the highway fixes you.
