solar eclipse 2023 darwin Page 177

On 20 April 2023, Darwin scored a deep partial solar eclipse while WA’s Exmouth hogged the path of totality like the front row of the grid.

You didn’t get full darkness up north, but the Sun took a substantial bite—spectacular enough if you had proper eclipse glasses.

It was a rare hybrid event (annular-to-total) sweeping across the Indian Ocean before giving Australia a brief cameo.

Next time, plan early, check local weather and safety guidance, and never stare at the Sun without certified protection, unless you fancy turning your retinas to toast.
