solar eclipse adelaide 2023 Page 7

Adelaide copped a partial solar eclipse on 20 April 2023 — not totality, but enough Moon-bite out of the Sun to make sky-watchers grin like kids at recess.

If you looked, hopefully you did it properly with certified solar viewers or a pinhole projector, because sunglasses are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Cloud got a vote as always, but when it cleared, the crescent Sun show was unmistakable across SA.

Missed it? Pencil in 22 July 2028 for a major eclipse visible across Australia, and keep your kit ready — the cosmos doesn’t run on Adelaide Metro timetables.
