Space Engineers is the game where you build a ship, forget to add enough thrusters, and then gracefully lawn-dart into an asteroid—twice.

Its voxel building tools and solid physics are brilliant, letting you create stations, drills, and contraptions so complex they’d make a Bunnings staffer weep.

Performance and UI have improved over the years, mod support is enormous, and co-op turns chaos into a spectator sport; solo survival can feel grindy without tweaking settings.

The downside? Tutorials are sparse, systems stack deep on deeper, and a single loose conveyor can turn your masterpiece into modern art the moment gravity says g’day.

If you love engineering puzzles and don’t mind the occasional space shrapnel incident, it’s superb; if you want narrative hand-holding, look elsewhere.
