speed fine wa Page 14

In Western Australia, speeding penalties scale with how many kilometres over the limit you were, and they come bundled with demerit points for extra spice.

During nominated public-holiday periods, double demerits can apply, so one brisk squirt can sting twice as hard.

Push it into high-range territory and you’re looking at potential licence suspension and a chat with a magistrate, not just a grumpy letter in the mail.

School zones and roadworks are policed like a hawk watches a chip, so treat the signs as gospel.

For exact fine amounts and point totals, check the WA Police Force or WA Road Safety Commission, because the figures and dates do change.
