In Victoria, there’s no special towing speed limit: follow the signed limit, up to 110 km/h on rural freeways, provided your rig is legal and stable.
That said, physics is stubborn; many caravanners sit at 90–100 km/h for comfort, tyre life and sway control.
Stay within your vehicle’s tow ratings and the caravan’s ATM, and note trailers over 750 kg need brakes, while over 2000 kg need a breakaway system.
Slow down for wind, rain and downhill runs, leave big gaps, and if sway starts, ease off smoothly rather than stabbing the brakes.
Some states cap towing at 100 km/h, but Victoria doesn’t—so trust the speed signs and your common sense.
