statutory write off qld Page 13

Ah, the dreaded "statutory write-off" in Queensland—a bureaucratic kiss of death for your beloved vehicle. Essentially, it means your car is so thoroughly wrecked that fixing it would cost more than it's worth, according to the insurance company and Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads. This designation prohibits the vehicle from being re-registered or driven on public roads unless it undergoes a rigorous repair and inspection process.

Common issues with statutory write-offs:

• Major structural damage
• Flood or fire damage
• Severe mechanical failure

If you're hunting for a bargain, some of these beasts sneak onto Tradingpost or CarShowroom, but beware: the repair costs might make your wallet cry. Always check official Queensland government resources for the latest regulations.
