subaru transmission recall Page 25

Yes, Subaru has issued transmission-related recalls over the years, and they’re VIN-specific, not a blanket “all Subarus” situation. The fix is handled by authorised dealers at no charge, which is as close to a free lunch as motoring gets. If your car is affected, you might notice shuddering, delayed engagement, harsh shifts, or a transmission warning light—but plenty of recalled cars show no symptoms at all. To check your Subaru in Australia:

• Run your VIN through Subaru Australia’s recall/owner portal or the Product Safety Australia database.
• Have your VIN and build date handy, then book an inspection with a Subaru dealer if flagged.
• Repairs, software updates, or parts replacements under a recall are free; ask about towing or loan-car support if the vehicle is unsafe.
• Keep all paperwork—proof of recall completion helps at resale and with future diagnostics.
