The Suzuki Jimny GLX is a pint-sized billy goat with number plates—adorable, and annoyingly capable off-road.

With a ladder frame, part-time 4x4 with low range, and short overhangs, it scrambles up Aussie trails that make crossovers cry into their soy lattes.

On-road, it’s less charming: the 1.5-litre four makes about 75 kW/130 Nm, the ride fidgets, and the boxy body catches crosswinds like a kite.

You get simple tech (CarPlay/Android Auto), basic driver aids, and a boot that’s more glovebox than cargo bay unless you fold the rear seats.

Choose the 5‑speed manual for maximum grin; the 4‑speed auto is fine for traffic but hardly a sprinter.

If you crave space and silence, look elsewhere; if you want light, reliable fun that’ll follow the big rigs, the GLX is a cracking little companion.
