In Australia, Tesla delivery is less “instant gratification” and more “hurry up and wait”—typically weeks, sometimes a couple of months, depending on model, spec and shipping cycles from Shanghai.

You order online, complete the paperwork in your Tesla account, then watch for VIN assignment and an ever‑refining ETA as ships inch across the map.

Most handovers happen at Tesla delivery centres; rego and payments are handled digitally, and you’ll be using your phone as the key before you’ve even figured out the wipers.

On the day, inspect panels, glass and tyres, check software versions, and note any issues in the app—over‑the‑air updates and service bookings handle the rest.
