Tesla used to fit ultrasonic parking sensors, then binned them in favour of “Tesla Vision” on most models built from late 2022. The camera‑only Park Assist now estimates distances and renders obstacles on the screen, and it’s improved with software updates, but it can still be flaky with low posts, soft objects and puddles. Older Teslas with ultrasonic sensors give more consistent beeps-and-numbers at crawl speeds, while Vision cars trade precision for future cleverness like smarter Autopark. If you want the old-school sensor experience, hunt for a pre‑2023 build—Tradingpost is a handy hunting ground. Either way, keep your wits about you: no system replaces a pair of eyeballs and a cautious right foot. In Australia the feature set is the same as elsewhere, though rollouts can lag a bit behind the glossy blog posts.
