tesla towing caravan Page 668

Yes, a Tesla can tow a caravan, just not the Taj Mahal on wheels. In Australia, typical braked capacities are around 1,600 kg for Model Y, 1,000 kg for Model 3, and up to ~2,250 kg for older Model X with the factory tow pack—keep your van well under these and mind the towball download. Expect a 30–50% range hit depending on speed, wind and caravan aerodynamics, so plan fast-charge stops and look for pull-through sites to avoid unhitching gymnastics. Fit a proper electric brake controller (legal over 750 kg), use Trailer Mode, and keep speeds sensible—EV torque is great, but physics is still the boss. Charging with a trailer is doable: arrive with a buffer, precondition the battery, and don’t block bays like a campsite hero. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
