the escape 2017 reviews Page 2

The 2017 Ford Escape is basically the Kuga with a fresh name, sharper styling, and the sort of driving manners that make the school run oddly entertaining. Reviewers liked its punchy turbo petrol options and tidy handling, though the ride can feel a bit firm on big wheels and coarse-chip Aussie roads. The cabin is practical with SYNC 3 and decent ergonomics, but some plastics feel more ‘fleet special’ than ‘family luxe’. Safety tech like AEB and lane aids appeared on many trims, but check the exact car—spec varied by grade and options. Running costs are fine if serviced on time; the 2.0‑litre turbo moves like a cut cat but drinks accordingly, while the 1.5 uses less and feels adequate rather than feisty. If you’re shopping used, condition and service history matter more than brochure poetry.
