Tokyo Auto Show 2023 returned with a fresh badge as the Japan Mobility Show 2023, held at Tokyo Big Sight for the public from 26 October to 5 November.

There were more electric concepts than a sci-fi writer’s desk drawer: Toyota rolled out FT-Se and FT-3e, Honda revived the Prelude name, and Nissan went wild with its Hyper series.

Mazda’s Iconic SP rotary-hybrid coupe drew proper double-takes, while Subaru and Suzuki pitched future-ready off-road toys to keep the mud-slingers happy.

In short, fewer piston nostalgia pieces, more battery bravado and software swagger—and a clear hint of where Japan wants your next family wagon to plug in.
