Head north of Perth and you’ve got a greatest hits tour of WA’s coast and outback without needing a compass or a sense of moderation. Close to the city are Yanchep and Lancelin, then Cervantes and Jurien Bay for your dunes-and-lobster combo. Keep rolling to Dongara/Port Denison, Geraldton and Kalbarri, before the distances get grand and the scenery turns epic through Carnarvon and Exmouth. Further up the line you’ll hit Karratha and Port Hedland, and then Broome if you’ve really committed to the odometer. It’s essentially sunshine, long roads, and more “let’s just pop in” stops than your fuel budget planned.
