toyota yaris 2010 problems Page 2

The 2010 Toyota Yaris is mostly tougher than a $2 thongs strap, but age and city slogging bring a few gremlins.

• Water pump seep or belt squeal; cheap part, annoying noise if ignored.
• Front-end clunks from sway-bar links or strut top mounts—little parts, big racket.
• Engine mounts sagging, leaving extra vibration at idle like it’s auditioning for a massage chair.
• Door lock actuators going lazy, plus the big Takata airbag recall—check it’s been done.
• Manuals can get throwout-bearing chatter; autos are sturdy but hate neglected fluid.

Buy on service history, not odometer bravado, and a quick pre-purchase inspection will catch 99% of the above before they catch your wallet.
