transfer car from vic to nsw Page 13

Moving your car from VIC to NSW isn’t witchcraft—just paperwork with a sense of humour.

Get a NSW Blue Slip inspection (interstate vehicles need it), line up a CTP Green Slip, and bring proof of identity, NSW address, and proof of ownership.

Head to Service NSW to register it, pay stamp duty and rego, and surrender the VIC plates so they can issue shiny NSW ones.

Chase any eligible VIC rego refund with VicRoads once the plates are off your hands.

If it’s a heavier rig or a trailer, you may also need a weighbridge ticket; check the fine print so you’re not doing a second lap.

Job done—no translator required, unless your mechanic only speaks Holden.
