transfer vehicle ownership qld Page 37

Transferring vehicle ownership in Queensland is thankfully straightforward, but don't expect it to be a joyous occasion. You need to complete a Transfer of Vehicle Registration form and submit it to the Department of Transport and Main Roads. Both buyer and seller must provide proof of identity and the vehicle's registration details. The buyer then has 14 days to lodge the transfer and pay the associated fee, usually around $40 to $50 AUD. Remember, if you dawdle past the deadline, Queensland will slap you with a late fee that isn’t very forgiving. For a less painful process, you can do this online through the official Queensland government website or visit a service centre. For more options, you might want to check out resources like Tradingpost or ServiceCentral.
