ute camping setup australia

Ah, the classic Aussie ute camping setup—because why rough it when you can rough it in style? Typically, you'll see canopies or camper shells bolted onto the tray for weather protection, combined with slide-out kitchens and roof-top tents for elevated slumber. Many also add portable fridges, awnings, and solar panels to keep the party going off-grid. Prices for these setups vary wildly: a basic canopy might set you back around $1,500-$3,000 AUD, while a full camper shell with accessories can top $10,000 AUD. Check out Tradingpost or CarShowroom for used gear and inspiration. Remember, the key is balancing creature comforts with payload capacity—don’t turn your ute into a rolling sauna.
