Shopping for ute canopies? Fibreglass shells look factory and keep the weather out, but roof‑load ratings are modest and they don’t love heavy racks off‑road.

Alloy canopies are the tradie’s Lego—modular, lighter than steel, and often with decent dynamic roof ratings and good dust sealing if you buy quality.

Steel canopies are tough as a wet week, but heavy; watch your GVM and rear‑axle load once drawers, water and a fridge climb aboard.
