In 2023, Australia’s Supercars rolled into the Gen3 era, swapping the old guard for a grid split between Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. The cars were pared back—less aero, lighter, and louder—which made them wilder to drive and better to watch.

Parity debates did plenty of laps, but the on-track punch-ons still delivered from Bathurst to Wanneroo. Engines stayed naturally aspirated V8s, the soundtrack remained pure pub-rock, and the bodies finally looked more like the showroom metal again. If you were chasing merch or tickets, classifieds like Tradingpost often had the goodies; if you wanted quiet contemplation, well, wrong sport.
