vehicle history check vic Page 2

In Victoria, start with a PPSR certificate (about $2) to confirm no finance owing, not stolen, and any written‑off history via NEVDIS. Then use the VicRoads registration check to match the VIN/engine number, confirm rego status, and spot anything fishy. Cross‑check odometer readings with the service book and PPSR data; if the numbers yo‑yo, walk away briskly. Add a proper pre‑purchase inspection to sniff out flood or hail damage, dodgy airbags, and backyard panel art. Get a legit receipt and photo ID from the seller—no ID, no deal. Do all that and you’ll know more about the car than its last owner did, which is the point. Shopping on Tradingpost? These checks still apply, mate.
