For a vehicle registration check in Tasmania, use the Department of State Growth’s Transport Tasmania online rego checker.
You’ll need the number plate (or VIN) to see current registration status, expiry date, and basic vehicle details — owner information isn’t shown.
If the car’s from interstate, look it up in that state’s system as well, because plates travel more than caravans in January.
Before buying, pair the rego check with a PPSR certificate and a proper inspection; it’s cheaper than inheriting someone else’s “project”.
