vehicle transfer vic Page 71

Transferring a vehicle in Victoria is less heist movie, more paperwork sprint: do it within 14 days via your MyVicRoads account.

The buyer needs a current Roadworthy Certificate (unless exempt), proof of identity, and money for the transfer fee plus motor vehicle duty; the seller lodges a Notice of Disposal to avoid future fines.

Grab the sale details (VIN, odometer, price), upload what’s asked, and keep the plates on unless it’s an unregistered or special-case transfer.

Pro tip: check VicRoads exemptions (spouse/partner transfers, some club permits, etc.) and you’re golden.
