The Vic Digital ID is a Victorian Government-issued digital identity tool, designed to let residents prove who they are online safely and securely. It’s a fancy way of saying you can ditch your physical wallet when interacting with government services and some private businesses that accept it. The digital ID is stored on your smartphone and uses biometric security like Face ID or fingerprint recognition to keep impostors at bay.

It’s free, convenient, and backed by the Victorian Government, but only works within Victoria and a handful of participating services so far. Think of it as your digital passport for local online dealings. For more info and to sign up, check the official Vic Digital ID page or trusted sources like ServiceCentral.
