vic electric car rebate Page 335

Short answer: Victoria’s standalone electric car rebate is no more—the $3,000 ZEV subsidy ended in 2023.

There’s currently no state purchase cash-back, though federal incentives still help, notably the Fringe Benefits Tax exemption for eligible EVs under the fuel‑efficient Luxury Car Tax threshold.

Victoria’s EV road‑user charge was struck down by the High Court in 2023, with refunds in train, so that little saga is (mercifully) parked.

If you’re shopping, chase sharp drive-away deals and low running costs—dealer discounts can beat yesterday’s rebate anyway.

Policies change, so check official government sources before signing anything, preferably before someone tries to upsell you floor mats as “value.”
