vic interstate licence transfer Page 11

Moving to Victoria? You’ve got up to 6 months to transfer your interstate driver licence to a Victorian one—leave it longer and the fun police will frown.

Book a VicRoads appointment, bring proof of identity, proof of Victorian address, your current licence, and money for the transfer fee; you’ll do a quick eyesight check.

If your interstate licence is current and full, you usually won’t need new knowledge or drive tests; P-plate or L-plate conditions map to the Victorian equivalents.

They’ll snap a photo, keep your interstate card, hand you a temporary paper licence, and post the plastic one—sadly it won’t make coffee.

Registration transfer is a separate saga, so don’t mix your rego with your licence unless you enjoy extra queues.
