vic rego transfer Page 22

Ah, the delightful ritual of transferring Victoria vehicle registration—a bureaucratic ballet that ensures your car's paperwork is as up to date as your Spotify playlist. When you buy a used vehicle in Victoria, you have 14 days to transfer the registration into your name, or you'll be slapped with a fine that no one enjoys.

The process involves submitting a transfer application to VicRoads, paying the transfer fee (about $38), and ensuring the vehicle has a valid roadworthy certificate if it's more than 6 years old. You'll also need proof of identity and the seller's details.

Remember, the registration doesn't automatically come with the car—it's like inheriting a pet but not the vet bills. For the nitty-gritty, consult the official VicRoads website or visit ServiceCentral for assistance.
