vic roadworthy cost Page 29

Ah, the infamous Victoria roadworthy certificate—your golden ticket to legally flogging your car. Expect to shell out around $100 to $200 AUD, depending on the vehicle's condition and the tester's mood. Newer cars or those in sparkling condition might just breeze through at the lower end, whereas rust buckets and classics could push you closer to the upper limit. Used car dealers often include this in their price, but private sellers usually leave you holding the bill. For the freshest deals and offers, keep an eye on ServiceCentral or Tradingpost to compare local testers. Remember, a roadworthy certificate only confirms the car meets minimum safety standards—not that it’s a peach beneath the bonnet.
