Remove any plates and return them to VicRoads if they’re still assigned to you—no one needs mystery tolls arriving like unwanted fan mail. The buyer will handle a roadworthy certificate and registration in their own name, and if it needs to be driven for inspection, they can grab an Unregistered Vehicle Permit.
There’s no normal online transfer through VicRoads because, well, it’s unregistered. For everyone’s sanity, do a PPSR check and keep copies of ID and the receipt.
