victoria booster seat height

In Victoria there’s no magic ‘height’ law for booster seats; the rules go by age and proper fit. Kids aged 4 to under 7 must be in an approved forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness or a booster, and from 7+ they can use a booster or adult belt only if it fits correctly.

Use the seat’s shoulder-height markers and the classic five-step test; many safety bodies also suggest roughly 145 cm before ditching the booster, but that’s a guideline, not legislation. Make sure the belt sits low on the hips, across the shoulder (not the neck), and the child’s knees bend at the seat edge without slouching. If in doubt, keep the booster—style points to your future chiropractor.
