The Victoria Club Permit lets classic vehicles enjoy limited road use without copping full rego, perfect for cars that come out more often than Halley’s Comet but less than a daily driver.
Eligible vehicles are typically 25+ years old, and you must be a member of a VicRoads-approved club, display Club Permit plates, and keep a logbook.
You choose either 45 days or 90 days of driving per year, and every trip gets logged like a diary your conscience actually checks.
It’s far cheaper than full registration, but the vehicle still needs to be safe and compliant, and a roadworthy or specific safety/engineering inspection may be required depending on age and modifications.
Stick to the permit conditions and logbook rules, and you’ll stay on the right side of both VicRoads and your club’s ever-watchful registrar.
