In Victoria, L plates mean you’re on your Ls with a valid learner permit and a fully licensed supervisor strapped in beside you at all times—no solo heroics.

You must display yellow L plates front and rear, clearly visible and not obscured, keep your blood alcohol at 0.00, and forget the phone—no hands‑free, no texting, nothing.

There’s no special learner speed cap in Victoria, so just obey the posted limits like a saint with somewhere to be.

Carry your permit, belt everyone up, and rack up supervised hours if you’re working toward your P plates.

Cop that and you’ll keep the fines (and lectures) to a minimum.
