As for a Victorian EV rebate, the short answer is: there isn’t one anymore.
Victoria’s Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Subsidy wrapped up on 30 June 2023 and applications are closed, so no fresh cash at the checkout today.
There are still broader incentives around Australia (like federal tax perks for eligible salary-packaged EVs), but they aren’t a Victorian purchase rebate.
On the upside, the state’s separate road‑user charge was struck down by the High Court in 2023, so at least that sting is gone.
Keep an eye on Victorian Government updates—programs change about as often as Melbourne’s weather—and run the sums on total cost of ownership, where most EV savings actually live.
