The VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) in a Toyota Kluger is the electronic chaperone that trims engine power and taps individual brakes to keep the SUV tidy when corners get cheeky. A quick flash of the VSC/TRC lights means it’s working; lights that stay on (often with a Check Engine tag-along) mean the system’s disabled until a fault is sorted. Usual culprits are a failed wheel-speed sensor, steering angle or yaw sensor needing calibration after an alignment, mucked-up ABS tone rings, or low battery voltage. Some models let you temporarily reduce/disable traction/stability control for sand or mud—check the owner’s manual before you go full rally. If warnings persist, get the fault codes read with an OBD2 scan and fix the root cause rather than muscling through it. Keep it on for everyday driving; it’s the invisible hand that stops a school run from becoming a physics lesson.
