vw golf discontinued Page 9

Short answer: no, the VW Golf isn’t discontinued globally. In Australia, the spicy GTI and all-wheel-drive R are still kicking about, while some trims and the wagon have come and gone with market whims and emissions rules. The Mk8 got its mid-life update in 2024, and this petrol era is likely the Golf’s last hurrah before VW goes heavier on electrons. Expect the Golf nameplate to live on—very possibly as an EV later this decade. As ever, check local stock, because availability can change faster than a hot hatch spools boost.
