wa traffic rules Page 215

WA traffic rules are blissfully simple: read the sign, obey the sign, and don’t argue with the nice person in uniform.

Stick to posted speed limits in km/h, wear your seatbelt, keep left unless overtaking, and give way to pedestrians at crossings and when turning.

Handheld phone use while driving is illegal, and if you’re on a full licence the legal blood alcohol limit is 0.05 (Learners and P-plates: 0.00).

At roundabouts, give way to vehicles already in the circle and those coming from your right, indicate your exit, and don’t treat it like a demolition derby.

School zones and roadworks have reduced limits—watch the signs—and double demerits often apply on holiday periods, so save the heroics for the barbecue.
