In Western Australia, you can snag your learner's permit at the ripe old age of 16. After that, you must hold your learner's permit for a minimum of 6 months before you can take the next big step: the provisional licence test. The provisional (P1) licence then lasts for 12 months with various restrictions before moving to P2, and ultimately, a full licence. Safety first, but don't worry, Tradingpost and CarShowroom are great places to hunt for your first wheeled companion.
