what century is 2023

2023 belongs to the 21st century, not the 20th — yes, really.

Centuries start at year 1, not year 0, so the 21st century runs from 2001 to 2100.

That means the year 2000 is the dramatic finale of the 20th century, not the opener for the 21st.

Blame the counting, not the calendar; it’s been confusing party planners since Y2K.
