what happened to google glass Page 3

Google Glass launched in 2013 as a moonshot for your face, then promptly collided with privacy angst, a stratospheric price, and a drought of killer apps.

Consumer buzz fizzled, so it pivoted to Glass Enterprise Edition for warehouses and field techs, where it actually proved useful.

In 2023 Google stopped selling Enterprise Edition and ended support later that year, which is corporate-speak for “we’re done here.”

The idea wasn’t daft, just early—battery life, social norms, and cameras in public weren’t exactly a cuddle party.

Bits of Glass live on in AR headsets and wearables, but the original is now a museum piece with a charger that no one dares throw out.
