Torque, the twisting force that makes your wheels turn, is measured in Newton-metres (Nm) here in Australia. It's the product of force and distance, so one Newton-metre means a one Newton force applied at a one metre distance from the pivot. In some places, you might see it in pound-feet (lb-ft), but stick to Nm unless you want to confuse your local mechanic. Remember, more torque generally means better pulling power, but don't get too excited without checking the whole package.
