Turbo petrol is simply a petrol engine with a turbocharger forcing extra air into the cylinders, so the bang gets, well, bangier. More air plus more fuel equals more power and torque from a smaller engine, which means snappier overtakes and decent economy if you don’t drive it like you’ve stolen it. The upside is a downsized engine that punches above its weight; the downside is extra heat, complexity, and the occasional whiff of turbo lag. They often prefer quality oil and sometimes premium unleaded, and they absolutely love regular servicing. Warm it up gently and don’t shut it off immediately after a hard run, and it’ll repay you with years of boosty goodness.
