when is international dog day 2023

International Dog Day 2023 falls on 26 August—yes, a proper excuse to spoil the hound rotten.

In Australia, it’s the same date, so pencil in extra walkies and a few too many treats. Celebrate by adopting, donating, or just letting the dog ride shotgun like they own the ute. If you’re shopping for gear, places like Tradingpost or PuppyList can sort collars, crates and toys without fleecing your wallet. Give the goodest mate a scratch behind the ears and call it a community service.
