when will used car prices drop in australia Page 6

Short answer: they’re already easing. After pandemic highs in 2022–23, Australian used-car prices have been sliding through 2024–25 as new-car supply normalises and fleets offload stock. Don’t expect a cliff; it’s a slow jog downhill, with EVs and thirsty large SUVs softening faster while utes and low‑km hybrids still hold their ground. If rates stay sticky and supply keeps flowing, expect further gentle declines over the next 6–12 months, but any supply shock or juicy rate cut could pause the slide.
