Springbrook National Park is in Queensland’s Gold Coast hinterland, about 30 km southwest of Surfers Paradise and roughly 100 km south of Brisbane.
It sits on the rim of an ancient volcano and forms part of the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage area, which is a fancy way of saying “lush, steep, and spectacular”.
Access is via the M1 and then up the winding Springbrook Road from Mudgeeraba; allow extra time because the corners multiply like rabbits.
Highlights include Natural Bridge and Purling Brook Falls—bring a jacket, and maybe your sense of awe.
