who won the everest 2022

Giga Kick won the 2022 The Everest at Randwick on 15 October, because a precocious three-year-old felt like schooling the heavyweights.

Ridden by Craig Williams and trained by Clayton Douglas, the gelding flashed late to pinch the lot and a rather obscene cheque.

For a horse that went around at long odds, it was the betting equivalent of finding premium fuel priced like E10.

So yes: Giga Kick, Williams up, Douglas calling the shots—nicely done.
