In 2023, WRC’s headliners were the Rally1 hybrids: Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, Hyundai i20 N Rally1, and Ford Puma Rally1. Under the bonnet sits a 1.6‑litre turbo four with around 280 kW from the ICE, paired with a 100 kW hybrid boost for short bursts that make straights vanish. They run AWD, a 5‑speed sequential gearbox, and weigh about 1,260 kg, all while sipping fossil‑free fuel. In other words: firecracker pace with a conscience, and aero big enough to shade a sausage sizzle. Tyres are control rubber, the hybrid maps are stage‑dependent, and the drivers still do the brave bit with their right foot. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
