x trail 2023 review Page 6

The 2023 Nissan X‑Trail finally grew up: calmer ride, smarter cabin, and an interior that doesn’t feel like a rental from 2012.

The 2.5‑litre petrol with a CVT is fine for the school run, while the e‑POWER hybrid (with e‑4ORCE AWD on offer) gives that smooth, electric shove without ever plugging in.

Space is family‑friendly with five seats standard and a seven‑seat option on some trims, plus a decent boot and plenty of USBs for the sugar‑fuelled in the back.

Safety kit and big screens show up properly on the higher grades, and the driving manners lean comfort over corner‑carving bravado—perfectly acceptable in suburbia.

New, you’re looking roughly from the high‑$30Ks to the high‑$50Ks plus on‑roads, while 2023 used examples hover from the mid‑$30Ks to mid‑$50Ks depending on spec and kilometres.

It’s not thrilling, but it is thoughtfully sorted—like a well‑made flat white that never spills, even when the dog spots a magpie.
