2022 bt50 head unit upgrade Page 6

The 2022 Mazda BT-50 shares its electronics with the D-Max, so head unit upgrades are well-charted waters.

Quick win: a plug-and-play interface that keeps the factory screen but adds wireless CarPlay/Android Auto and extra camera inputs; expect around AUD $400–$900 fitted.

Full replacement needs a model-specific fascia, CANBUS harness and antenna adapters to retain steering-wheel controls, factory camera and parking sensors; budget AUD $800–$2,500 plus install.

Confirm compatibility with the OEM USB, mic and any bull-bar cameras, and make sure wiring is ADR-compliant so warranty and insurance stay happy.

A good installer will update firmware, hide the GPS puck neatly and set a clean reverse trigger so nothing upsets the body control module.
