lidar sensors Page 2

Ah, lidar sensors, the tech that’s basically the eyes of autonomous vehicles and fancy mapping drones. They use laser pulses to measure distances with high precision, creating detailed 3D maps of the environment. Expect specs like range up to 200 metres, accuracy of a few centimetres, and a 360-degree field of view—perfect for avoiding surprises on the road. Prices vary wildly, from a few thousand AUD for entry-level units to over 100,000 AUD for top-tier models. Used sensors can be found on CarShowroom or Tradingpost, but beware of calibration issues. For the tech-savvy, consult manufacturers’ datasheets to pick the right sensor for your needs.
